Castable  is a kind of refractory material made of granular and powdery material,  and add a certain amount of binder and water together. It has a high flowability, suitable for casting construction, and no need to heat can be hardened unshaped refractory. It consists of refractory aggregate, powder, binder, admixture, water or other liquid material. Usually in the use of the site to pour, vibration or tamping method of pouring molding, can also be used to make preforms.
Brief introduction Refractory castable is the main variety of unshaped  refractory materials. During the Second World War, the United States  used refractory castables as a special-purpose brick substitute for  boilers or oil production equipment. Japan began to study the production  of such materials in 1950.
In the early 1950s, the Soviet Union began to use Portland cement refractory castables. Since  the 1960s, unshaped refractory material has developed rapidly. By the  1990s, the production of unshaped refractories in the United States and  Germany has accounted for more than one third of the total output of  refractory materials, while refractory castables account for 40% of  unshaped refractories % ~ 50%.
China  in the early 1950s began to use Portland cement refractory castable,  was called heat-resistant concrete, mainly for 700 ℃ below (sometimes  700 ~ 1200 ℃) of the thermal structure, 1965 ~ 1975 commonly used  aluminic acid Calcium  cement and phosphate refractory castable, was called refractory  concrete, the use of temperature increased to 1400 ~ 1600 ℃, during  which the construction of the production base, established in early 1976  product standards, after 1976, the rapid increase in product  categories, quality But  also gradually increased, the mid-80s China has developed a new  generation of refractory castables, including low cement, ultra-low  cement and cement-free refractory, its quality close to the  international advanced level.
